Plate Play is itslit’s daily word game. You get seven letters on a state-inspired license plate and make a word of three to seven letters in any order. Each tile can be used once. You can check candidates before choosing the one final word that becomes your result.
Build a word, then decide
Tap the letter tiles or type into the word field. The small numbers beside the letters are their point values. The score next to your entry is a preview, not confirmation that the word is accepted.
Select Check my word. If the entry is accepted, a confirmation asks whether you want to lock it in. You can choose Keep thinking instead. An invalid word does not spend your turn, and checking a valid candidate does not commit it by itself.
The important moment is Lock it in. That saves your final answer for the plate in this browser. Pick the word you want to stand behind before confirming.
How the points add up
Add the values of the letters you use. For a simple example, CAT would score C (3) + A (1) + T (1), or five points, on a plate containing those tiles. This is an illustrative scoring example, not today’s solution.
A seven-letter word earns ten bonus points on top of its letter total. You do not have to use every letter to submit a valid answer. A shorter word can be a satisfying finish; the bonus gives you a reason to keep looking when you want a challenge.
When the next plate arrives
The daily puzzle changes at midnight in America/Chicago—Central time, including its seasonal clock changes. Players see the same plate for the same game date, regardless of where they are. The countdown in the game shows the next reset.
The daily record tracks play and streaks on this browser. Completing an older shared plate can be a catch-up round, but it does not extend the current daily streak. Practice rounds are also excluded from that record.
Share the challenge without the answer
After finishing, Share my score creates a message with your points, the number of letters used and a link to that plate. It leaves your word out. You can also download the plate image to challenge a friend with the original letters.
